Team Liquid Partners With Newzoo
August 14 2019
Team Liquid is excited to announce a new partnership with Newzoo, a leader among market intelligence companies focused on esports and gaming. As the team’s market intelligence partner, Newzoo will provide Team Liquid with esports industry insights that will help us understand and evaluate our ecosystem with more depth and accuracy.
"One of the first things I learned during my time as a professional StarCraft player was the importance of scouting. If you know what's happening around you, you can react appropriately and make the right calls for the situation at hand. This lesson has served as a basic principle for how we run our team; with the right knowledge and information, we can put Team Liquid in the best position possible for success both in and out of the server. This partnership with Newzoo adds their market intelligence and expertise to our collective knowledge-base and experience. In the same way that we take pride in giving our players the platform they need to win, our goal here is to provide our staff with the tools and insight necessary to make smarter decisions, which ultimately leads to continued success."
- Victor Goossens, Co-CEO
“I’m thrilled that Newzoo is partnering with Team Liquid! This partnership is special to me for many reasons. Not only is Team Liquid home to some of the most successful esports teams in the world, but it has also helped build up esports from the ground through its early-day efforts in StarCraft and community platforms such as TLnet and Liquipedia. The Newzoo team looks forward to supporting their ongoing success and growth. For us, this partnership is a key element in our ongoing effort to ensure the highest level of accuracy in our actuals-based forecasting and reporting.”
- Peter Warman, Newzoo CEO and Co-Founder
Information is key to winning. That holds true for many of the world's biggest esports, where players obtain vision, sound cues, and line of sight to help make in-game decisions. Whether it's through using control wards or observer wards, scouting build orders, or counting utility usage, the best players in the world know that knowledge is power — and often the difference between victory and defeat.
The same goes for the organization behind our championship-winning teams. We have an entire staff ecosystem that provides essential support and services to Team Liquid, from our creative teams at 1UP Studios, to our back end staff in accounting, client services, and team management. Information is just as important a resource to all our various departments, and our new partnership with Newzoo will be the mid lane ward that gives us a broader view of the esports landscape. Except this won’t be dewarded any time soon.
And now you know (about our partnership), and knowing is half the battle.
