Be a Healer: Save a Life with BCA

June 06 2019

We are urging esports fans across North America to jump out of their gaming chairs, throw on their favorite jerseys, and join us in the call for blood donations. Saving a princess from a deranged mutant turtle is fun and all, but when it comes to saving lives IRL, we know gamers will rise up and heed the call.

A patient needs blood every two seconds in America, but less than 20 percent of donations come from 20 to 34-year-olds. We are hoping to close the gap and inspire gamers to step up and donate by partnering with Blood Centers of America. The BCA is a national member-owned network of over 50 independent blood centers that provides high-quality blood products for patients in their communities.

You’ll start seeing donation buses sporting our team colors and horse head logo across North America, providing convenient centers for fans across the nation to donate blood on-the-go. We know that DPS and ADC get all of the glory, but gamers who play the support role by donating for the cause will earn some limited edition merch: A red Team Liquid tee.

The one-of-a-kind donation buses will also be accompanying our championship teams as they compete at events across the US, offering opportunities for esports fans to show their support and help save lives with life-saving donations.

“Blood donations have never been more important, and everyone can play a part in making sure that people who need blood are able to get it.,” said Bill Block, BCA President and CEO. “If everyone touched by this campaign signs up and shares the message with family and friends, we would see a major difference.”

Keep an eye out on our socials on June 14th for more info on the campaign.
