Ice to Meet You Liquid`Fr0zen

March 09 2018

There is something strangely comforting about seeing really fitting team name and gamer handle combos. While nominative determinism isn't part of our scouting reports, it's difficult to resist the temptation to call signings like these 'destiny'. Fortunately, we can also do puns.

So, for the first time in forever, we're thrilled to announce a new Hearthstone signing. Welcome, Liquid`Fr0zen.

"Been a fan of liquid for so many years, it’s really a dream come true to be part of this great org!"

Frank "Fr0zen" Zhang has been one of the most consistent players over the past few years, a remarkable achievement in a constantly fluctuating scene. Most recently, Fr0zen placed second at the Hearthstone World Championship in Amsterdam, beating the likes of Neirea, OmegaZero, Sintolol, and JasonZhou to reach the grand finals. Though Fr0zen would fall in a close 2-3 set in the year's biggest Hearthstone match, it proved that Fr0zen was belonged in the game's highest tier. That completed a strong 2017 season that began with another silver at the 2017 Hearthstone Winter Championship.

After a career made from grinding tournament qualifiers, Fr0zen is now recognized as one of the best Hearthstone players in the world. With invites to some of the biggest Hearthstone tournaments this year, expect to see him go further in 2018.

He will join Dog in representing Team Liquid and the United States at the World Electronic Sports Games 2017 Grand Finals in Haikou, China this coming week.
