A Farewell Note

March 23 2017

To the Counter-Strike Community,

I am writing to you today to let you know that Jacob “Pimp” Winneche has officially requested to be transferred. We agreed, and have begun negotiating with interested teams while we concurrently search for his replacement. For the time being, Pimp will play on our CS:GO roster as an active substitute and we hope that by being open with the community about this situation we can help find Pimp a proper new home in a timely manner.

During his time with us, Pimp played admirably and was a valuable teammate. ESL One: New York will stand as the highlight of our time together as we barged out of the groups by defeating Fnatic twice ultimately reaching the semi-finals. Pimp was integral to that success, and we will always remember his clutch to earn us match point on Dust II.

“It’s with mixed feeling of sadness and excitement that I will no longer be a part of the Team Liquid starting roster. I no longer feel that playing for Liquid fulfills my personal expectations & goals, nor do I feel I can provide the commitment necessary to continue with the team on a long term basis.

It has been a great ride and an experience I would not trade for anything in the world. I am not done as a player by any means, and I am actively looking for another team with a vision similar to mine. I want to take this time to thank Liquid for everything they’ve done and provided for me, a life experience I wouldn’t be without!”

Replacing a player of Pimp’s caliber is not easy, but we are working hard to find someone that will enable our CS:GO squad to compete at the highest international level - our coaching staff and management is diligently pursuing top tier talent, and we will update the CSGO community as our search progresses.

In the meantime, ESL Pro League Season 5 is heating up. We’re currently in 2nd place as we approach the midpoint of the season, so make sure to cheer for our squad every week.

A huge thank you to our fans for your continued support and please help us in bidding a warm farewell to Pimp.
