Matt "Akaadian" Higginbotham joins Liquid

After what seemed like an interminable search, Liquid has found a jungler worthy of the name. While we received applications from all over the world, it turned out that there was talent in our relative neighborhood. One particular candidate immediately stood out with his confidence and cool. He basically listed down his achievements and current level before ending it with: "But anyway here's my application".

What he did write down, though, was enough for us to take more than just a second look. With multiple challenger accounts, experience as a sub in NACS for Dream Team, and a readiness to move in with the team, he easily rose to the top of our list. While playing from the Top Dog Gaming house in Hemet, CA, his stints in challenger have bred a familiarity with our players—especially the man who's shoes he must fill, Dardoch. The 19 year old earned himself a trial, and he calmly chopped down all of our expectations. That has only raised the bar for him, but we know he's as excited as we are for his debut.

"Matt went through an extensive tryout and I found he had solid mechanics. He also has an open mind and is very open to criticism which matches his great work ethic."
- David Lim

"I'm happy with my position at TLA. I've become very comfortable with the team over my tryout and I'm looking forward to making LCS with these guys."
- Matthew "Akaadian" Higginbotham
