Liquid's Law of the Jungle

January 23 2016
The jungle is a dangerous place full of monsters, wards and traps, and only the strongest survive. In order to survive, one must evolve. Today, Liquid continues its evolution.

Over the past few weeks, Liquid has been experimenting with lineups, as seen in Matt’s and Dardoch’s debuts against TeamSoloMid. Dardoch’s emergence will not just be a cameo, however, since he will now play full-time for our LCS team following IWillDominate’s retirement.

The king of our jungle, of course, has a worthy heir to succeed him. Dardoch was handpicked by Dom himself and has been groomed from a solo queuer into a fearsome team player. He was instrumental in TLA’s HTC Ascension triumph and qualification for NACS, yet his ceiling is still beyond sight. IWillDominate will continue to mentor him during this transition period in order for him to fulfill his potential while temporarily playing in NACS.

This week, Dardoch will once again roam the forests of Summoner’s Rift in the NA LCS. Watch Liquid take on CLG on Saturday, January 23 at ~2pm PST.

Because of Dardoch’s move to the main team, we are searching for a new jungler as well as a new Challenger coach. Applicants must be ready to tangle with some of the meanest beasts to roam the Rift and prove they have what it takes to run with our pack.

Here’s Coach Locodoco to explain exactly what we’re looking for:

Jungler Requirements

  1. Challenger Ranking
  2. 17 years of age or older
  3. Available to live with the team
  4. All nationalities eligible

  2. Education and relevant work experience
  3. Short video introducing yourself, your coaching style and what you bring to the table as a Coach.

Send all applications to [email protected] with the title "Application for Jungler" or "Application for Coach". Applications without the appropriate title will not be considered, and don’t forget to include all the relevant information. Good luck!

Our final change is a departure. Our resident jungler, Christian "IWillDominate" Rivera, has decided to retire after 3 successful years on the team. During his time on Liquid, he became one of the kings of the jungle in NA LCS. While he leaves behind a lion-sized hole, Dom has found the perfect man to replace him. He will continue to work with Liquid as a content creator and positional coach, and we look forward to working with him in a new role.

“Following Saturday's match versus Renegades, I made my final decision to retire from my position as a professional League of Legends player. After 5 years of playing this game professionally, I have chosen a different path and will no longer compete weekly at LCS.”

However, his fans should not despair as they will get one last chance to watch Dom in action. For the first week of NACS, IWillDominate will be filling in for Liquid Academy. Come and watch him in his swansong as he takes his bow from professional League of Legends.

“Thank you to all my fans that supported me from DIG all the way to TL. I want all of you guys to know that throughout my career, I tried my best to be the best player/teammate that I could be. I have no regrets about my career. I hope that you guys can continue to support me in my future endeavors within Team Liquid.”
