DH Valencia: Liquid CSGO soars Valencia

July 13 2015
With FACEIT and DreamHack teaming up for FACEIT's Stage 2 LAN Finals in Valencia, our boys look poised to carve their name in the books of the $150,000 tournament. DreamHack Valencia boasts a stunning lineup with the top two North American teams and the undisputed top six European squads gearing up for what will certainly be a tournament to remember.

After a shaky start in the regular season, dropping the first two matches to Team eLevate (2-8), Liquid rallied back with two solid wins against the top-seeded squad of Cloud9 (8-2). The team was able to finish the season with a respectable 6-4 record to claim the second North American spot, edging out both Nihilum Gaming (5-5) and Luminosity Gaming (5-5).

A Heightened Form

Liquid will be looking to exceed their results from the previous time they ventured overseas. At Gfinity Spring Masters 2, the team took a map off of both Fnatic and Natus Vincere, an effort that culminated in their most promising international showing to date. Since then, the boys have exhibited an improved form as the relatively fresh lineup developed their chemistry. Liquid's recent successes are in part thanks to the explosive rifling prowess of EliGE, a player who has been blowing away the competition with his superb aim. The young star will be looking to show that his 37-4-32 scoreline in two maps against Fnatic at Gfinity was only a taste of what's to come.

The team is not short of stars, however, as FugLy and nitr0 continue to display their top tier talent and provide Liquid with a fatal 1-2 punch when defending sites together. Combined with the experience and leadership of both adreN and flowsicK, the well-balanced squad is in a good position to make some waves in Europe once again. With Fnatic, Team SoloMid, Team EnVyUs, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro joining the North Americans, Valencia is primed to be one hell of a ride.

Don't miss out on the action as it starts this Thursday, July 16!
