Gamers For A Cause Announces Esports Charity Stream

July 08 2015

Benefiting City Year LA, this live-stream event will host many featured guests and professional esports.

LOS ANGELES (July 8, 2015) -- Gamers for a Cause today announced they will be hosting a charity stream benefiting City Year LA, an organization that helps keep kids in school. The charity event will be streamed live to the public at www.twitch.tv/gamersforacause on July 11, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. PDT.

Several teams from the North American LCS, including Team Liquid; TSM; Counter Logic Gaming; Team Impulse; Cloud 9; Team 8; and Enemy Esports, will be donating their time to the event: Q&As, 1v1s, Nintendo video game showdowns, giveaways, and much more.

“City Year is a no-nonsense organization that attacks the problem at its source,” said Steve Arhancet, Team Liquid’s co-owner. “Their program increases the ratio of adults to children in the classroom, providing students who are at-risk of dropping out the attention they need to keep going. Their statistics are absolutely jaw-dropping and the effects can be felt across the globe. I'm happy and excited to know that many esports teams and players are committing their time to aid such a great cause.”

Proceeds and donations from the event will go toward City Year LA. To help run the event, players from nearly all the NA LCS teams will be attending and giving away thousands of dollars of merchandise.

We hope you will spread the word about our cause!
